KME communicates directly.
“The ability to directly communicate with KME’s Engineering team, like Jack Terefinko, Jason Witmier and Andrew Yenser is critical in providing the best designed fire apparatus to meet today’s fire fighters needs. From our first purchase we have been treated like we are Bulldog and KME’s only customer.” Shawn Herlihy
Director of Transportation
Boston Fire Department

In 2009, after a competitive bid process, Boston had its first experience with KME. The City of Boston purchased two (2) fire trucks, a custom Heavy Rescue (Rescue 2) and a Ford F-550 Air Bottle Unit. They had such a positive experience with those 3 apparatus that when it came time to purchasing three more trucks the decision was much easier.

In 2010 the City of Boston purchased three (3) Custom Pumpers for (3) three of the busiest stations in the city. Throughout the build process of the (5) five custom units for the City of Boston members of both companies made the process of buying and building a new fire truck easy. KME built the trucks on time and on budget with quality and pride.

The City of Boston has established a relationship that they continue to enjoy with KME and Jeff Mazza of Bulldog Fire Apparatus the local KME Representative. “For me it has been a world class experience to deal with two great organizations with such great people from the dealership to the factory.”
