KME at Work
“All of our Truck Committees look at quality, costs, service, and customization and KME is the only manufacturer that can satisfy all of our needs.” - Adam Kauer, Deputy Chief

East Carnegie Volunteer Fire Department bought their first KME Pumper in 1988. The relationship between the department and KME began with Terry Steiner of Steiner International, Inc who is the KME Sales Representative Organization in Western Pennsylvania. Once East Carnegie had their first pumper they continued to buy from KME because the trucks were customized to their exact needs. Terry and the Sales Engineer who worked on their truck were always quick to respond to all of the problems or concerns that they had about their truck.

East Carnegie has a total of 4 KME’s in service at this time, and they are in the process of signing the contract for their 5th KME to make them a 100% KME department. When it comes down to it, the truck works well, the dealers works with them, and the manufacturer works with them to build the best truck for them. They couldn’t be happier about their purchases. Steiner stated “They have been very valuable in promoting KME in this area and I can attribute multiple orders to them and their recommendations to other customers.”
