Lovelady bought their first truck from KME in 1994 and since that time have bought more trucks. Chief Winfield Abee appreciated the attention that the people at KME gave them during our visits to see the progress of their truck. “KME made us feel as though we were purchasing a fleet of trucks from them. All of the employees were very kind and went out of their way to ensure that we received an apparatus that would serve us well for many years and that we would be proud to have in our station for many years.”
Lovelady Fire Department and Slagle Fire Equipment; who represent KME in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia, have always worked together to make sure the truck were designed, built and delivered correctly. Virgil Slagle who is one of the owners for Slagle's has even gone so far as to making necessary adjustment or repairs at the station himself to keep the fire department happy. That's the kind of personal attention the employees at KME and their dealers strive to give each customer. Virgil Slagle states
that "the members of the Lovelady FD truck committee has thrown down the gauntlet many times for us to come up with new designs to fulfill their needs. The engineering staff and production crews have been able to meet the challenge each time. With each new truck we sell Lovelady KME has come up with new methods and designs that are being incorporated into the products KME offers.”
There are a lot of companies that sell fire trucks, but it's the people who give the customers the individual attention that make the difference.
