“The OCFA prides itself in developing apparatus specifications to meet the diverse needs of our service area and then awarding contracts for equipment after a competitive bid process. The fact that KME would meet our rigorous specification in all phases of both construction and delivery is a testament to the determination of KME to provide customer satisfaction. KME not only worked to provide our agency with apparatus built “our way”, but also to provide apparatus that is cost effective.”

The Orange County Fire Authority in California includes responsibility for 62 fire stations protecting 550 square miles including 120,000 acres of wildland and 1.4 million people. Celebrating its 30th anniversary, the OCFA is well known nationwide and in addition, the departments training academy is currently featured on the Fox Reality Channel’s “The Academy-Orange County Fire.”

KME has a long history of providing apparatus for the OCFA for over 10 years. Trucks include pumpers, aerials, and tenders. KME appreciates the professionalism and attention to detail shown by the OCFA and our ability to provide custom apparatus is one of the keys in this long relationship. The OCFA has a very good understanding of both current apparatus technology as well as the specific needs of the operations team in the field and KME is able to combine both for outstanding apparatus performance.

The fact that KME would meet our rigorous specification in all phases of both construction and delivery is a testament to the determination of KME to provide customer satisfaction.
